Born & raised in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, Madalyn Martinsen fell in love with the restaurant world while working her first job at age 16. This experience, as well as her general love for food and its power to bring people together, led her to study Culinary Arts & Food Service Management at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. 

Working in a variety of positions in kitchens and gardens, Madalyn always aspired to create a place of her own in which life & its many facets are celebrated over food. 

Mayfield, named after her late grandparents' farm, opened in November 2020. Here, Madalyn combines her experiences working in Brazil, California, New England, and Central Pennsylvania through her heartfelt and approachable dishes in a warm and welcoming environment. Mayfield aims to raise a glass to community, kindness, and the simple act of sitting down to enjoy a meal with those you love.
